A weekly tally counts 13 mainboard draft prospectuses filed in the week to October 3, with a disclosed value of Rs 19,244 crore. The largest is Inox Clean Energy's Rs 10,000 crore issue (Rs 8,000 crore fresh, Rs 2,000 crore offer for sale), which the tally says SEBI placed in abeyance on October 1. Others include JSW One Platforms at Rs 3,054 crore, Vishakha Renewables at Rs 1,250 crore, and Anarock Property Consultants, B.S. Sponge and Royal Chain at Rs 1,000 crore each. Four more companies, including Wadhwa Group Holdings and Dosti Realty, used the confidential route.
Why it matters for listed companies
Draft filings are the supply side of the IPO market six to twelve months out. The fee pool falls to listed investment banks and brokers that run these books, and to registrars. Renewable power and real estate account for much of the week's paper, so listed peers in those sectors face more competition for the same institutional money. More than half the week's value sits in one issue that is on hold with the regulator, so the headline total overstates what is close to launch. A draft is not a dated issue: none of these companies has announced a price band or opening day.
