Capital expenditures including principal payments on finance leases were $31.08 billion, and free cash flow was $784 million. Why it matters for listed companies
Meta funds its AI build-out from advertising cash flow rather than cloud contracts, and the quarter shows how much of it that now absorbs: $31.08 billion of capex left $784 million of free cash flow on $60.80 billion of revenue. The $130-145 billion planned for 2026 goes to suppliers of AI chips, servers, networking gear and data-centre construction and power. Unlike Microsoft, Alphabet and Amazon, Meta has no external cloud revenue to offset the outlay.
